WEANLING, YEARLING, AND TWO-YEAR-OLD NOMINATIONS 1.
All
entries
must be SSHBEA
registered by August 31st-.
2.
All nominations
must be made in writing
& fees paid by August 31st. Phone
nominations are not accepted. 3.
Both the owner
and nominator
of each entry
must be
a current SSHBEA
member in good standing.
4. There will be no refunds, changes or substitutions (before or after the deadline) once a nomination has been made.
You must declare
all classes at the
time of
nomination.
5.
Eligibility
of nominated
entries
will transfer with
ownership.
6. Competing in Breeders' Cup Sweepstakes classes at the Fall Show will qualify those entries for SSHBEA
Championship
Classes at the Fall
Show. 7.
Nomination
applications
will be reviewed
by the Breeders'
Committee
for eligibility.
AWARDS
AND PAYBACK BREEDER'S
CUP: A Breeders'
Cup trophy,
along with
championship ribbons through
ten places will
be awarded.
Sire/Dam nomination fees will be split equally among the three age groups and combined with the fees collected for each individual
class to determine
the payback for that particular
class. (For
example, one
third of
all sire/dam
fees will
be allocated to the
weanling division, then
split
equally between the open,
amateur
owned, and
heritage classes.)
BREEDER'S
CHOICE: To qualify for the
Breeders' Choice
Award, a
horse must be nominated
and
shown as a
weanling,
yearling,
and two-year-old
in the
Sweepstakes Class
appropriate
for that division at the SSHBEA Fall Show. A horse may show in
more
than one
class within its division
each year, but
only the
highest
placing
will count toward
the Breeder's
Choice
Award.
The
horse accumulating
the highest
number
of points
over
the
three-year-period
(awarded according
to placement
in each
division)
will receive
the Breeder's
Choice
Award.

RULES
DIVISIONS The Breeders' Cup Sweepstakes will
be held annually during the SSHBEA Fall Show. featuring Weanling
Division (a)
Open Class (any
exhibitor)

professional training within
90 days
of show. Must
be exhibited by owner or an immediate family member.
SSHBEA Amateur

spotted
parents.
Both sire/dam
must be SSHBEA registered
by July 31st. Only
parent must
be nominated.)
All
sire/dam
requirements
must be met before
the weanling
can be nominated. If
the owner
of the sire
or dam
declines
to pay
the nomination
fee, the
weanling's
owner
may choose
to pay
the fee.
If this is
the case, the
nomination
fee covers only the
foal(s)
owned by the person paying
the fee. The
weanling nomination
fee is
$25 for each entry in each class.
Entries
may be nominated for any class in which they meet
the qualifications. Once
a weanling is
nominated, it
is not required to
show to remain eligible for
nomination
as a
yearling
the following
year.
Yearling
Division
(a) Open Step-Up
Class (any exhibitor;
The
yearling
must perform
the step-up "show
gait." Following
conformation
judging,
the yearling will be called from the line up and asked to "show
gait'.
Each individual
entry
will walk the length
of the arena,
turn, and
with a noticeable increase
in speed
"show
gait"
back to
the line up. The
show
gait
will
be judged 50%
of the performance.
