At 7:00PM, Travis Kelley called the 10/18/05 SSHBEA Board of Directors meeting to order and asked Janice Higgins to call the roll. She did so and all were present except Maude Hopkins, Sis Osborne, Johnny Smith, Freda Wassom and Brenda Wright who had all notified the office of their absence. Roy Franklin had been voted in as the replacement board member for John Mohon. Travis had excused Roy from this meeting.

Travis introduced Mack Motes at this time. Mack was present to verbally recommend three people to the SSHBEA Hall of Fame. Those were J.W. Higgins, Don Bridges and Travis Kelley.

The minutes had been mailed and Bob Wright made the motion to approve them with a typo corrected (sit instead of set), and "Judges" added in front of committee on the motion recommending Mike Lee for his Master Judges license and added the word "seconded" which was left out when Freda Bullard seconded this same motion. Dan Meyer seconded the motion to approve the minutes, motion passed.

Travis reported he had very good comments about the Fall Show from lots of people. Entries were up a little from the year before and 168 entries were shown the night the USDA was present for the show. That night there were two, one foot tickets written and one placed in conflict. There was a report that one of the judges was witnessed visiting a trainers barn. Also, one of the judges had never judged a show before. One judge was seen in the warm-up area watching people ride during a break in the show.

The Hall of Fame criteria for this year would have an addition allowing the nomination of people who played a vital part in the founding of this association or worked in the early years to promote our association. Other changes would be made for next year.

Judy Hooker made the motion asking for the approval of her Credentials Committee to consist of Janice Prince, Deedy, Beverly, Sherie & Debbie. Freda Bullard seconded, motion passed.

Janice Prince had received a bill for $300 from the PSSHTA for their stake class at their show. Dan Meyer made the motion to approve payment of this, Janie Rowland seconded, motion passed.

Next Aaron discussed the Financial Report. Bob Wright made the motion to approve the Financial Report, Mark Cutlip seconded, motion passed.

Janice Prince had a problem transfer. It was a horse that belonged to Rawhide Adcock, papers are signed, but no transfer. The new owners had complied with all info that Janice had asked for other than the signature on a transfer. Janie Rowland made the motion to approve the transfer, Freda Bullard seconded, motion passed.

Bob Wright asked that Janie Rowland be added to the Color Committee. All approved.

Bob reported the committee had met and come up with the phrase "Tobiano type" to use in registration requirements as acceptable. There was lengthy discussion about the sabino horses and changing the wording of the original rule sent to the membership that was voted on and passed and the concerns of a lawsuit. Bob read a partial synopsis of his take on the history of the Spotted Saddle Horse. Travis is to contact another breed and see how they have handled the problem.

Mark Cutlip made the motion that in 2006 if an individual sells 3 corporate sponsors (ones that were not sponsors in the immediate prior year), they receive a buckle or a jacket. Dan Meyer seconded, motion passed.

Bob asked where we stood on the membership directory. Someone else asked about the Rule Book. Sis Osborne is over both of these and absent from the meeting tonight.

Bob Wright made the motion to adjourn, Kathy Baker seconded, motion passed.
