Bob or a representative of SSHBEA is supposed to meet with Rick Wheet(?)
from Novall headstalls later this week and participate in a National Radio
Broadcast that goes out to 3 million people.
Rick has a mustang/walking horse cross that gaits and is spotted and
wants to register it.
The next item of discussion was the rule book.
A rule had been passed in August 2003 that stated “the heaviest Trail
Pleasure shoe can weigh no more than 2 lbs. and the heaviest Lite Shod shoe can
weigh no more than 3 lbs. regardless of the shoe size”.
The next motion was “to table how to enforce the shoe size until the
next meeting”. Johnny Smith made
the motion to take the weight limit off the shoes until we derive a way to
police and enforce it. Doug Herring
seconded, motion passed.
Sally Wright had checked on John Baskin and they thought he was a little
better. There is a benefit scheduled
for him on April 28th.
Bob Wright wanted the minutes to reflect the results of a phone poll
during the last month. All members
voted to allow the USDA Committee to make the decision on signing the Operating
Plan. The committee decided to sign
the plan.
Johnny Smith made the motion to cover the expenses for Mack Motes to go
to
We had received the yearly request from the 4-H for a $1,000
donation/sponsorship. There is an
issue with the 4-H allowing ID solid horses to show in the Spotted Saddle Horse
classes. This does not comply with
the SSHBEA rules. Bob is to check on
all the details before we make a decision on giving the donation this year.
Aaron presented the Financial Report.
We had made money in March. We
have $14,000+ on the past due list. We
need to make a decision on how to handle some of the entries on this list.
Johnny Smith made the motion to approve Aaron’s financial report.
Freda Bullard seconded, motion passed.
The judges committee had applicants to be approved.
SSHBEA Master Judges to be approved were:

Mike Lee, Roy Franklin, Don Woodson, Harold Johnson, Ronnie Sapp and John
Cordell – all were approved. SSHBEA
