Minutes of Special Called SSHBEA Board of
Director Meeting-7/28/08
At
7:00PM on July 28, 2008, Mack Motes called the Special Board of Directors
meeting to order and asked Janice Higgins to call the roll.
All were present except Sis Osborne, Maude Hopkins and Gordon Hirschi.
This meeting is to finalize the Fall Show class sheet and draw for judges
for that show.
The
class sheet committee and extra attendees had met and cut and combined several
classes to make the classes meet the 6 nights show this year.
They asked for Amateur Country Trail Pleasure and Amateur Traditional
Trail Pleasure grand championship classes to be added.
All changes were approved with the exception of taking the Ladies
Auxiliary class out. Freda Bullard
made the motion to add it back as a Traditional Trail Pleasure class.
Jennifer Broadhurst seconded, motion passed.
Aaron Crafton made the motion to approve the class sheet with typos
corrected and the addition of the LA class.
Jennifer Broadhurst seconded, motion passed.
Don
Woodson informed the board he could get $1000 donated to our show if we would
add a solid color speed class. This
could not be done.
The
following judges were presented to the board for approval.
Wayne Abee - Roy Franklin made the motion to approve him, Jennifer
Broadhurst seconded, motion passed. Jimmy
Carathan – Aaron Craft made the motion to approve him, Roy Franklin seconded,
motion passed with 10 yes votes and 6 no votes.
Travis Kelly – Kim McMahan made the motion to approve him, Bob Wright
seconded, motion passed. Janice
Higgins made the motion that the fall show judges are not to go to any
particular barn after the show, Freda Bullard seconded, motion passed.
This will be added to the contract and brought to the attention of the
fall show judges.
Next
the board drew names for the fall show judges.
The 1st few drawn were Douglas Ann McGovern, Holly Sanders,
Hubert Perry, Don Woodson, Jennifer Davis, Dwayne Sullivan, Wayne Abee and Derek
Myers. Janice Prince will contact
those drawn until she has 5 who accept.
A
few other items need to be discussed so another special meeting will be called
after this one is adjourned – next board meeting and registration issues.

SSHBEA Board of Director Meeting-7/28/08
After adjournment of the fall show class
sheet/judges meeting Mack Motes called another special BOD meeting to order to
discuss the next board meeting and an issue Cindy Haley wanted to discuss about
registration.
Since
this meeting is so late in the month unless something comes up that needs to be
discussed the SSHBEA August meeting will be canceled.
Cindy
Haley asked what happens if someone comes to enter a class and don’t have
their registration #? Some say they
forget, some just haven’t turned in their registration.
There are some that show that are in question if they are actually
eligible for SSHBEA registration? Several
members remember discussing this last year and passing a motion that any horse
must be registered 6 weeks before the fall show.
The registration committee is to research this.
The
gaited mule association gives a person a card with owner’s name, animals name
and registration # when you turn in an application for registration.
Kim
McMahan reported the Fund Raiser Committee had cleared close to $6000 for the
Mid Season show.

was made to adjourn, seconded and passed.
